"WHAT TIME IS IT?" (sung like the kids from High School Musical :) )
It's definitely not summer time, or party time, or time for me to reveal the fact that I know so many words to the songs in HSM, but it is INDEED time to do a 5QF!! Thanks to Mama M. for this super fun blog carnival, jump in, link up and let's get down to business....
Questions for Friday, 1/8/10:
1. What's your "comfort food"?
That one is soooo tough. I love anything sweet (which accounts for the pounds I can't manage to get off!!), or starchy. They've gotta be the two worst things in the world for a girl, but I can't help what I like right?
Let's see, here lately, I've been finding myself cooking a LOT of mashed potatoes, so I'd say that's my current comfort food. I have found that those frozen little chunks of potatoes that you can steam are definitely just as good as the peeled, boiled, and slaved over kind. Add some butter and milk, use a mixer or blender to whip them into shape, and mmmmmmmmm, that's my weakness right now....
(HA!! I never read Mama M's responses before I post because I don't want to know if I have the same answers, or have her sway my opinion, but it looks like we're both on board with the same thing here!!! You go Mama M.!)
2. Do you send Thank You's (handwritten or email)?
I must confess that I do not send enough Thank Yous via snail mail or email. I am horrible at writing out thank you's. I always think that I sound insincere when I write them, even though I am SO very appreciative, so I end up throwing the card or email away. Maybe that will be a February resolution for me.
3. If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
I think I would choose "The Mentalist". Simon Baker is not hard on the eyes, and I LOVE his character in that show, he's just so blunt and in your face if he thinks you're hiding something. I always thought it would be fun to do investigative type stuff anyway, so this would be right up my alley.
4. What is your favorite online recipe site?
Hands down, I would have to say allrecipes.com . They have something for everyone there, and you can save anything you like or come across but can't make until later to your own personal recipe box. Most of the recipes are submitted by ordinary folks, and people are great about putting honest reviews or their own modifications in the comments section.
5. If you had to choose "Friends" or "Seinfeld"?
FRIENDS!! I loved that show, even though I have to say now that I am a Mom, it's harder to watch without getting a little blushy at times. There are times when I've tried to watch a rerun, but my kids were in the room and the talk of sex just kept coming up, so I had to change the channel. I have to say it is one of my all time favorite shows though!!
Okay, now it's your turn.... click the McLinky to join up!! And thanks again Mama M. (see, I'm learning already!!)
