Witty Kid Wednesday

Wanna join in? Go to Mindi's blog!!

Mindi is starting a new blog carnival today called Witty Kid Wednesday, and my kids are always saying the silliest things, so I'm definitely on board with this one!!

For instance...

Yesterday we went to the Nutcracker ballet at a local university. This is our second year going to this particular show, but it's always great. As we were leaving, I was talking to Lady M about how she needs to really get serious with her lessons, since she's not been doing them like she should. I told her that she needs to be "diligent" and serious about her work because she will have to finish 3rd grade if she ever wants to be a dentist like she says. A few months ago, we had this conversation while she was working on her lessons...

Lady M: "Mom this can't be right. You messed up with this lesson plan."

Me: "What? I didn't write the text books, Lady M. I can't help it if there's a typo. Let me see what you're talking about."

Apparently Lady M was just misunderstanding what was written. I tried to explain to her what the book was talking about. She didn't get it.

Lady M (now frustrated): "Mom, why do I have to be homeschooled?"

Me: "We've gone over that before and the reasons haven't changed."

Lady M: "Well, why do you have to be my teacher? Since I'm the student, and you're the teacher, that means I can fire you right? 'Cause I think you should be fired."

Which brings me back to yesterday.... as we were leaving the Nutcracker and I was talking about getting serious with her work, etc., Lady M says this:

"Mom, remember when I fired you a while back? Well, can I hire you back now? Because this work is getting HARD!"

LOL! I had to keep a straight face.... but I'm officially hired as her teacher once again :)

  1. Fired and hired by the same person in just a few months time! Andrew isn't talking in sentences but I have something funny to share one day that he said.

BTW, our trip to see Santa was fine. Pictures are on my blog.
