True Story Tuesday

Hopefully I won't be too long winded today, since we have a field trip this morning to SciWorks...

Let me start by saying that I'm clumsy.

No, I mean, REALLY clumsy.

As in, I could trip and fall in a completely and totally empty room. Without even moving my feet.

All I have to do is think about being clumsy, and... OW! How did that happen?

A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting in this very same seat, at this very same computer desk, and I heard the most atrocious screams and wails coming from my living room. The screams and wails were preceded by loud voices of one eight year old girl and one two year old girl. I didn't get involved. There's really no point anymore, they have to figure out how to get along on their own.

The screams were coming from Miss Priss (the aforementioned two year old), and the wails were coming from Lady M.  They intensified and, at this point, to not get involved may mean I would be charged with child endangerment. I mean, who knows? Maybe a snake crawled out of the ceiling (like it did at my brother's house, another story for another day) and was strangling Lady M to death while Miss Priss watched, scared and helpless.

SUPER MOM TO THE RESCUE!!

I jumped from my chair, turned to run in the direction of the living room, and stepped right into the top of this.

Yep, Miss Priss had been just minutes earlier playing with this Barbie VW beetle. How my size nine and a half foot fit into the opening on the top of the car is still unknown.

(My foot, beside the barbie car)

I skated, then slammed into the coffee table. ricocheting between it and the loveseat in my den, somehow mananging to twist and fall down in between the two.

Here is my battle wound today.

I'll leave the superhero work to Superman from now on.

Oh- and in case you were wondering what the screaming was all about, Lady M was sitting on the love seat and Miss Priss didn't want her there... it wasn't a snake or monster or anything. I guess I'll know better next time.
